Description

    • The entire building has angular features but with nice proportions and enriching details. On the top level the most prominent geometrical form is that of a square, colored in white with long ribbon window. This square is supported by five round pillars on each long side. Behind these pillars one finds an intermediate storey that is set back. The five rooms behind them look like flat roof constructions.
The entrance to the building is at ground level and is basically a spacious hall made of glass and here one finds those “flat roof constructions”. Two of them form an “L” ( for chemistry and other scienc-es), others form a square (for the faculty), a cross (art) or a semicircle (for music). According to the architect in charge these symbols bear no ideological meaning, but he was thinking of shapes in common cities and tried to reproduce them. From here one has a great view over the garden, the orchard and the castle. Most of the light filters through the glass roof and illuminates the hall.

The eight classrooms are one level above on the same storey as the library, again with view over the “flat roof city”
