Description

    • In 2006 a museum opened in Paris that exhibits textiles, jewelery, statuaries, sculptures and other artefacts from the Asian-Pacific region, Oceania, America as well as Africa. Aim was to present these artworks in a dignified yet didactic suitable way - a rather difficult task.
Another challenge was to create a space in which it will be possible to do so. The location of the museum - close to Seine and thus at risk of being flooded - forced the architects to get really creative. Additionally it was also important to keep nature and its preservation in mind. Administration, work spaces, cinemas, restaurants and a book store can be found on the 40.660m² area.
