Description

- The Landesbank occupies an entire city block. It serves as an important linking element between the various activities defining the neighbouring quarters of the city, such as retail, commercial, residential, cultural, sport and leisure. The building gently integrates itself in the existing fabric of the city through varying heights.
  From the exterior it resembles the traditional city block. The heart of the complex lies at its centre, protected from the noise of the heavily trafficked streets: a large, public courtyard. This courtyard is characterized, but not dominated by the daily operations of the bank itself and is also enlivened by shops, restaurants and cafés. Through large reflecting pools, extensive landscaping and public art the courtyard becomes an attractive place to stay.
