Kindergartens - architecture and real estate for the youngest of us

Playing, laughing, running - what do children of kindergarten age better than that? A nursery will offer the youngest members of our society a place to romp, learning and create first social contacts. In many cases, a kindergarten friendship holds a lifetime. A nursery is no longer a "child-care institution" which he once was. It supplements the education of the family and the little ones can get early education and promotion. Unfortunately, this must often take place  in gray concrete landscape or in convenient, unloving built pavilions.

This is where thearchitecture comes into play. Many architects and architectural firms have taken up the construction of kindergartens. In the latest projects a sophisticated concept is reflected. Giancarlo Mazzanti architects designed the Timayui kindergarten in Colombia. Therefore they follow the educational concept of the Italian Loris Magaluzzi. The Tellus Nursery School of Tham & Videgård Arkitekter in Stockholmrelies onthe cooperation of different kindergarten groups. In Spain, the architect Alejandro Muñoz Miranda realized with the kindergarten Albolote a unique play of light that will stimulate the imagination of children. The role of architecture in the implementation of educational concepts should not be underestimated. Room layout, color schemes and the design of the outdoor facilities are important aspects. The architects have to deal also with the construction of kindergartens and the underlying concept. Many have taken up this challenge and created unique exciting projects.
